Review: Splintered by A.G. Howard.

Uploading this again because my internet did not upload it the first time.

So this story is about Alyssa Gardner. She is a descendant of Alice Liddell, the little girl who inspired "Alice's Adventures in wonderland." By going down in the rabbit hole. Basically her family has a curse. And thanks to that curse her mother is suffering, and she might go down the same path. To break this curse she has to go to wonderland and break it there. But wonderland is nothing as it seems...

The story is told from Alyssa's point of view and the plot is really fast because I think the whole story happens in a weekend? It just goes by really fast. And if it was by my choice I wouldn't have put the book down and just have finished it in one sitting. But school as always gets in the middle.

I really liked the writing and how things were described and the paintings and landscapes and all the characters. Amazing.

I think Alyssa did some really bad and fast decisions like not thinking things through first and just going by nice words that morpheus said.

I was mad at Jeb in the beginning for the whole Tae thing but later in the book I started liking his character a lot.

Morpheus. Well what a bastard and a lil devil he is. I did not like him and everything was always physical with him so he's a no no.

I think the best part is kind of in the ending where all of the plot twists just come hitting you and the face and you're like woah after woah.

I really loved this book. I love and enjoy fairy tales/story retellings. And this one was an amazing retelling of an amazing sotry.

My rating is of 4 out of 5 stara on good reads and I recommend it to anyone who likes retellings :)

Review: Pigeon English by Stephen Kelman

This book gave me a hard time to start and finish. Another book that I had to read this year for school. I have to admit that I really hated this book.

The story is about Harri Opoku, hes in 7th grade and in the beginning of the book a guy (he barely knows but calls him his friend) gets killed. The book is basically about him trying to "investigate" with his friend Dean to find out who killed the guy.

The writing was horrible. The story is told from Harrison's perspective and he just jumps from subject to subject just suddenly. I personally think 75% of that book is just bla bla bla. It is like the author was just trying to fill in the pages. At some point the pigeon Harri befriends starts "talking". How the pigeon talks is kinda poetic. Only thing I liked about the book.

I seriously did not like this book and I dont recommend anyone to read it.

My rating is 1 out of 5 stars on goodreads

Review: De Engelenmaker (The Angel Maker) by Stefan Brijs

One of the many books i had to read for school this year, yay.
This is my last book i read for school so far and i got told that it was the best of all of the books assigned so i was really excited about it but at the same time it was difficult to avoid spoilers. So the most of the book got spoiled to me before i even had it.

The story is really interesting and it has to do a lot with biology, I recommend that you have a bit of knowledge on the DNA sector before jumping into it because otherwise you wont  understand half the book.
The explanation of these terms don't go deep.
Basically the story is about a mysterious doctor and 3 kids he has.

In the second part of the book they go explaining the Doctor's past. I found the second part, that one, really confusing because they keep jumping between 2 times in the past till they collide, that kind of writing i find really interesting but confusing. The story starts mysterious and suspenseful and then jumps into a , rather, boring past and then goes to the story in the present again.

I really liked the ending and the way the characters were described was a bit good, there were a lot but a few that were actually important, the bit of German in the book was confusing me a bit too due to my lack of knowledge of German.

The writing style was good but at the end in the E-book version, i noticed that a few ' were missing from the dialogue, besides i think the writer went too deep into describing the scenes and the explanation just gets too long and that's why I lost the suspense of the moment.

I wouldn't highly recommend this book but if you want a suspense thriller book with a lot of biological terms, this is the book for you :) .

I gave this book 4 (3.5)  stars out of 5 on goodreads.

Readathon: Bout of books 10.0

Hello there! Well these are the 2 books I will be reading for this readathon. Yeah only 2. Why? Because I'm having a pretty difficult time with both of them, the plot is so slow.. I dont know. But yes I am reading them for school and I have to finish them this week so why not just put them as my TBR for this readathon? :)

I will not be officially participating. I just found out too late and I dont want to be compromised because I have another exams to do as well this week. So it will be pretty busy but I'll try to fit in my reading as well.

So those are my books :)
Happy mother's day everyone!

Review : Looking for Alaska by John Green.

I read this book around May 2013 and I really love it. I was really glad I bought it. I started reading it without knowing anything about the book at all. I didn't know anything about the plot and I think thats the way everyone should read it because it has more impact like that. Fascinating plot, I really loved it specially the first part! So much fun! I enjoyed it so much. I couldn't put the book down because I had to keep on reading the amazing things that were happening!

Like always, John Green's writing style is just perfect. So many quotable moments I just loved it. John's books are just a masterpiece.

I wont describe any characters because its important to just dive in knowing nothing about it :)

I really recommend this to everyone. Please read it. Please.

Review : City of Bones by Cassandra Clare (The Mortal Instruments #1)

This is one of my favorite books ever! i really loved the plot i couldn't put the book down it was just amazing to be in the shadowhunter world.

I have to say it's the first time i read a book that is like a narrative, a third person telling the story and i really liked it. i had trouble understanding in the beginning what was happening but then i got it and it was just great.

I really enjoyed Clary, she was an amazing character, just amazing. i love how she is all clueless in the things and keeps asking stuff.
Jace was just so funny, like seriously, so sarcastic and his comments. I just laughed a lot thanks to him.

What i really need to comment on is... WHY JUST WHY DID THE THING YOU FIND OUT AT THE ENDING HAS TO BE TRUE. i can't believe it seriously. Like THEY WERE SO PERFECT AND NOW UGH. I HOPE THAT CHANGES SOON AND THAT ITS ALL A LIE.

I honestly think the best part was at the greenhouse where they...

I would really recommend this book to everyone, a really fun read and just rollercoaster of emotions. I really want City of Ashes now.

Movie Review: Divergent

First of all i have to admit, if you haven't read the book. this is an amazing movie! But i did read the book and that's why i think personally that the movie sucked.
The plot is so much different than the book, I expected a few changes, but not so many! I think that the explanation of the factions with Shai as narrative wasn't that good, i think they could have done it another way. The actors were amazing, Theo and Shai (OTP) and the movie Christina isn't the one i pictured.
But there's always something bad... The confusion between will and peter. Yes thats right, those two really looked like each other and i always had to ask myself who is that? Will or Peter?

I really expect Insurgent to be better.

Review : Enclave by Ann Aguirre

The plot in the beginning was captivating, as in every dystopian book i read, i want to find out how that world is. So that kept dragging me. The book is filled with amazing action moments that i really loved.

You can start noticing a romantic connection between 2 characters really early on the book too, which I liked. Mostly i couldn't put the book down, it's a fast paced story that i really liked.

The writing style was okay, i could say it was just normal. At some points i really liked how they were comparing the fighting and dancing.

I kind of connected with Deuce, but at some moments she was making the most stupid decisions and choices i really wanted to slap her.

I can really compare Fade with Tobias from divergent. I really liked the way he is with Deuce no matter what, and how he cares for them ( the rest if you read the book. )

I really liked the love story but at some moment there kind of was a love triangle that i didnt like, mostly because of the actions in the past of the other character. I really did not like the love triangle.

I think that the best part is in the half of the book. I just really loved the changes, and how they had to adapt and stuff.

I would recommend this book its a fun and action packed story, but in the next book ( Outpost ) I would really like for Deuce to become a bit more smart, and no love triangle.

I gave this book 4 (3.5) out of 5 stars on goodreads.
